Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and yet around 40% of adults don’t eat it, why don’t people eat breakfast? Is it because they don’t have time or do they think it will help reduce their calorie intake and help them lose fat?
Eating breakfast if you don’t already is probably the quickest boost you can give your fat losing efforts.
Why does breakfast help fatloss?
1. Eating breakfast stops you pigging out mid morning on crisps and chocolate bars from the work vending machine, if you don’t eat breakfast you will feel hungry later in the morning when all you can get is junk.
2. Eating breakfast speeds up your metabolism, its true eating more regularly makes you burn more energy. Eating smaller meals more often as oposed to just 2 big meals a day also puts less strain on your stomach meaning it won’t stick out a much.
This does’nt mean you should stop off for McMuffins on your way to work everyday however, try eating some low GI breakfast cereal like Allbran or Special K, Porridge and unsweatened Muesli are also good sources of low GI breakfast Carbs. Other foods you could try for breakfast are eggs (poached or scrambled), grilled bacon, toast without too much jam or butter. Even if you just have some fruit in the moring its better than having no breakfast at all.
